Richland Public Health announces June health screenings

MANSFIELD — Several community health screenings have been scheduled around Richland County during June.

The free health assessments from Richland Public Health nurses are intended to offer for Richland County adults health checks at locations close to home.

Community Health Screenings include a free blood pressure reading, blood sugar check (3-hour fast recommended), anemia check (hemoglobin and hematocrit), education opportunities and referrals.

Cholesterol checks are also offered for $12 and require a 9 to 12 hour fast. Only cash or check will be accepted.

Thursday, June 13 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Springfield Twp. Fire Station, 3700 Park Ave. West, Ontario
Tuesday, June 18 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Richland Public Health, 555 Lexington Ave., Mansfield
Wednesday, June 20 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Thursday, June 27 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Lucas Community Center, 252 W. Main St., Lucas

Neighborhood immunizations have also been scheduled for June.
Infants, children and adults can get the shots they need a Neighborhood Immunization Clinics staffed by public health nurses from Richland Public Health.
Children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian and need an up-to-date shot record and insurance card at time of service.
Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care are accepted. Most private insurance companies billed.
Please contact the public health clinic for pricing for children and adult vaccines.
Richland Public Health participates in the federally-funded “Vaccines for Children” program. No child is denied vaccines due to inability to pay (donations are accepted).

Immunizations are also available any weekday at the Richland Public Health clinic, at 555 Lexington Ave. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. No appointment required.
